The expert study of the legal framework in the migration sphere, presented at the event by Sofia Batura, will be used in the development of proposals for improving the migration legislation of Russia
On June 06, 2022, a joint meeting on labor migration issues was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia on the topic “Development of processes for attracting demanded foreign labor resources to Russia in the new economic conditions”.
In the joint meeting took part representatives of the following commissions:
• The Commission on Labor Migration of the Council for Foreign Economic Activity of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia;
• Commission on Migration Issues and Socio-Cultural Adaptation of the Council under a Resident of Russia for Interethnic Relations;
• Commission of the Civic Chamber of Russia on the harmonization of interethnic and interreligious relations.
Confidence Group was invited to the meeting as an expert on Russian migration law. Sofia Batura, Deputy General Director and permanent speaker of thematic events, successfully delivered an informative report "Difficulties associated with attracting foreign citizens to assembly and installation work."
Sofia highlighted the problems of Russian customers of services in terms of the conditions for the legalization of foreigners invited to our country to carry out installation work and maintain technical equipment purchased abroad. She focused on the articles of regulatory legal acts that contain collisions and look unattractive for the entry and registration of employees.
The participants of the event highly appreciated the speech of the representative of Confidence Group. At the end of the meeting, Sofia was asked to give her contacts to the Ministry of Economic Development for further cooperation.
According to representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia in Western countries, the possibility of entry of foreign specialists to work in certain areas of the Russian economy may be even more limited as part of sanctions measures. In this regard, our country may begin to experience a shortage of qualified and highly qualified labor.
At the meeting, a discussion was held on the implementation of the idea of organized recruitment of foreign labor from friendly states as a possible way out of the current situation.
Participants gave examples of current restrictions and talked about the fact that many foreign companies from friendly countries are ready to occupy the vacated niches of the Russian market. Therefore, in their opinion, it would be advisable to once again review the current regulations and pay more attention to possible preferences from the legislation for this category of labor migrants.
