On April 26, 2022, the diplomatic mission of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Russia decided to suspend the acceptance of applications in Russia for short-term visas, as well as cancel all scheduled visits from April 27, 2022.
This decision was motivated by a reduction in the staff of the diplomatic mission on the territory of Russia. On April 19, the Russian Foreign Ministry handed a note to the Ambassador of the Netherlands, in which 14 embassy employees and one employee of the consulate general were declared persona non grata. Diplomats are required to leave the country within 2 weeks.
