The Ministry of Internal Affairs regulations on migration registration of foreign citizens have been updated

The Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia dated October 22, 2024 No. 628 "On Amendments to the Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia dated December 10, 2020 No. 856 "On Approval of the Administrative Regulations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Provision of a Public Service for the Implementation of Migration Registration of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in Russia, forms of an application by a foreign citizen or stateless person for registration at the place of residence, an application for deregistration of a foreign citizen or stateless person from the place of residence, notification of the arrival of a foreign citizen or stateless person at the place of stay, marks on registration (deregistration) of a foreign citizen or stateless person at the place of residence, marks on confirmation of execution by the host party and foreign actions by a citizen or stateless person necessary for his/her registration at the place of stay, carried out, among other things, by a multifunctional center for the provision of state and municipal services".

The following amendments have been made to the administrative regulations:
• the Center for Migration Issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (CMIA RF) has been added to the list of organizations providing migration registration services;
• the procedure for interaction between the migration departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and authorized organizations of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Passport and Visa Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia - PVС MVD of Russia and Moscow Migration Center - MMC) has been established;
• the procedure for independent submission of arrival notifications by foreign citizens through the Unified Identification and Authentication (Gosuslugi) portal has been established.

New forms have been approved:
• notifications of arrival of a foreign citizen or stateless person at the place of stay;
• applications for deregistration of a foreign citizen or stateless person at the place of stay;
• applications for deregistration of a foreign citizen or stateless person at the place of residence;
• applications for correction of typos and (or) errors.

The order comes into force on February 5, 2025.
