In the current realities, Turkey is one of the most attractive countries for traveling abroad, especially given the easing the conditions of entry and stay.
For citizens of the Russian Federation there is a visa-free regime, to enter Turkey you need a valid international passport, the validity of which must expire not earlier than 120 days from the date of entry into Turkey. A passport is required for all tourists, regardless of age.
In addition to the international passport, foreign citizens over 12 years old entering Turkey from the Russian Federation must present one of the four documents below:
- certificate confirming vaccination with at least two components of the vaccine approved by WHO and the Turkish Ministry of Health (single-component for Johnson and Johnson), the last component must be administered at least 14 days before the date of entry into Turkey. As for the Russian vaccines, Turkey recognizes only "Sputnik V" (it is necessary to provide a printed valid certificate of vaccination with "Sputnik V" from the State Service "Gosuslugi" (in English, with passport data, the name of the vaccine, and with a QR code);
- a document confirming the fact of COVID-19 disease (entry is allowed within six months, starting from the 28th day from the date of the first positive result of the PCR test);
- a negative PCR test result for COVID-19, which was submitted not earlier than 72 hours before the date of entry into Turkey;
- a negative result of the rapid antigen test, which was submitted not earlier than 48 hours before the date of entry into Turkey.
It is not required to observe quarantine when entering from the Russian Federation. Please note that entry requirements from other countries may differ from the mentioned above.
It is also important to take into account that the above rules do not apply to foreign citizens transiting from one international flight to another international flight.
Other previously valid entry formalities (filling out an online application form and obtaining a HES code) were canceled by the Turkish authorities in March 2022, this is indicated in the news of the Federal Tourism Agency, as well as in the tourist memos of the largest tour operators working with Turkey. Also, PCR tests, antigen tests or vaccination certificates (and HES codes) are no longer required for domestic travel by public transport, air travel within the country, when checking in into hotels, and when visiting any public places, including shopping centers. According to information from tour operators, in a number of hotels the usual buffet system with open windows is gradually returning. The need to wear masks in the streets has been canceled, however, the requirement for their use in public transport (including airplanes) still remains.
