On May 17, 2017, the Chairman of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani and Carmelo Abela, the head of the Ministry of the Interior of Malta presiding in the Council of the European Union, signed the final document on visa-free regime with Ukraine.
Tayani and Abela on the margins of the plenary session of the EP have signed the Regulations of the Council of the EU and the European Parliament, which amends the Regulation on the visa list as of March 15, 2001.
The regulation comes into force 20 days later - approximately on June 11.
Citizens of Ukraine will be able to enter the countries of the Schengen area, as well as in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland for a period of no more than 90 days for six months. At the same time, permits for work and studies in the European Union will still be required.
For cross the border, Ukrainians will need a biometric passport, it is also recommended to have a return ticket, a hotel reservation confirmation, an invitation from relatives, medical insurance and money at the rate of at least 45 euros for each day of stay in the EU.
