On July 7, 2022 the Federal Law No. 87-FZ dated April 1, 2022 "On Amendments to Article 8 of the Federal Law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation", adopted as part of the initiative we wrote about earlier, came into force. According to this law winners and finalists of the competition "Russia is the country of opportunities" can obtain a permanent residence permit in Russia by a simplified procedure. Now such persons can immediately apply for a permanent residence permit bypassing the temporary residence permit stage.
