On April 5, 2016, the President of Russia signed an Order «On improvement of state management in control of trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors and in the field of migration».
This Order provides the abolition of the Federal Migration Service and the Federal Drug Control Service, the transfer of their functions, powers and staff number to the Interior Ministry of Russia with a 30% payroll reduction of the abolished Federal Migration Service.
The Interior Ministry of Russia is the legal successor of the abolished services.
This Order of the President of Russia came into force on April 5, 2016.
