The State Duma has approved the draft law providing the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) with the right to determine the procedure of deportation of foreign citizens from the territory of Russia.
Deputy Interior Minister Igor Zubov said that the draft law was prepared in compliance with the list of Security Council’s instructions as of March 31, 2016 on measures to improve the migration policy.
More precise mechanisms for forced expulsion of aliens will be spelled out by departmental regulatory acts, which will contribute both to respecting the rights of the deported person and respecting the interests of national security of Russia.
