On February 4, 2019, the State Duma adopted on first reading a bill № 850631-7 that will allow obtaining foreign citizenship of Russia in a simplified manner to all foreign citizens whose children already have Russian passports and have reached 18 years of age, and not only incapable of work.
The current legislation provides a simplified procedure only for disabled people who have capable adult children who have Russian citizenship. The draft law proposes to exclude such a mandatory condition as disability for applicants for citizenship of Russia.
