On January 23, 2020, the State Duma adopted in the third reading bill No. 831695-7 “On amendments to the federal law “On the legal status of foreign citizens in Russia” (in terms of simplifying the procedure for employing foreign citizens and stateless persons students in Russian professional educational institutions and educational institutions of higher education)".
These amendments to the Federal Law “On the legal status of foreign citizens in Russia”, which simplify employment of foreign students in Russia, are aimed at increasing at least twice the number of foreign citizens studying in Russian universities and vocational schools.
The bill will later be considered by the Federation Council, approved by the President, after which it will be published and will enter into force one hundred eighty days after the day of its official publication.
