In April 2018 two draft laws providing for simplification of the migration regime for citizens of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), were submitted to the State Duma.
The first bill providing release of people from the DPR and the LPR from requirement to stay in Russia not more than 90 days during each period of 180 days, since people from the DNR and the LNR do not always have the opportunity to go home for three months to return afterwards. In this regard, the deputies also propose to allow citizens of the DPR and the LPR to temporarily stay in Russia while the President's decree on recognizing in Russia documents of DPR and LPR is in force.
The second bill suggests giving the right to citizens of the DPR and the LPR to work in Russia without receiving of a patent. It is about legalizing of 200-300 thousand people.
