This means that a visa fee will be charged for processing visa applications, which will be equal to that charged from applicants for a tourist Schengen visa - 80 euros for adults and 40 euros for children from 6 to 12 years old.
The terms of consideration will also be increased and the rules for extradition will be tightened.
We remind you that earlier the EU countries agreed to suspend the visa facilitation agreement between Russia and the EU.
In connection with this decision, almost all EU countries increased the amount of the visa fee for Russian citizens. For adult applicants, the visa fee has increased from 35 to 80 euros, for children 6-12 years old - from 35 to 40 euros. Cyprus was the last of the EU states to decide on the establishment (increase) of the visa fee for citizens of the Russian Federation.
However, since there has been no direct flight between Russia and Cyprus since the end of February 2022, the consulates of Cyprus no longer issue pro-visas for Russians upon arrival. Russian citizens can still travel to Cyprus with Schengen visas issued by other Schengen countries, Cyprus has not closed its borders to Russian citizens.
