In general, the number of quotas has been reduced by almost half (a total of 5,500 in Russia, while in 2024 there were 10,595).
The quotas were distributed as follows:
• total in Russia - 5,500 (was 10,595);
• Central Federal District - a total of 2,070 (was 3,610);
• Moscow - 1,000 (was 1,500);
• Moscow Region - 359 (was 750);
• St. Petersburg - 200 (was 300).
The new order of the Russian Government reflects the trend of recent years to reduce the number of quotas for temporary residence permits.
At the same time, a number of categories of foreign citizens can now obtain a temporary residence permit in Russia without taking into account the quota, namely, from 01.09.2024, by decree of the President of Russia, this right is granted to foreign citizens wishing to move to Russia due to the destructive policies of their countries.
