Russia and Tajikistan have concluded an important agreement on the procedure for medical examination of labor migrants. According to the new rules, Tajik citizens will be able to complete the mandatory medical check-up for work in Russia before leaving their country, at a special facility in Dushanbe.
This step aims to simplify legal employment, reduce document processing time, and enhance control over sanitary and epidemiological well-being in Russia. Previously, migrants underwent some examinations after arriving in Russia, which could delay the process of obtaining a work patent and starting employment.
Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko and Tajikistan's Health Minister Jamoliddin Abdullozoda signed the corresponding intergovernmental agreement on October 9 in Moscow.
Key change: The medical examination of Tajik citizens planning to work in Russia will now be conducted at a specially organized facility based in one of the medical institutions in Dushanbe. The procedure will be carried out strictly in accordance with the regulations approved by the Russian Ministry of Health.
Main advantage: Migrants will no longer need to undergo a second examination upon arrival in Russia. The results of the medical check-up obtained in Tajikistan will be sufficient to begin working. This significantly speeds up and simplifies the legalization process.
Previously, Tajik citizens underwent medical examination upon arrival in Russia under the general procedure (more details in our news).
During the visit, the parties also discussed other cooperation issues and approved a "roadmap" detailing joint actions in healthcare for the next three years.
