A new agreement on visa-free travel will be concluded between Russia and China

As it became known from an interview with the director of the consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexei Klimov to the RIA Novosti news agency, steps are currently being taken through the Russian Ministry of Economic Development to conclude a new Russian-Chinese intergovernmental agreement on visa-free group tourist trips.

The old agreement was concluded in 2000, suspended during the pandemic, and resumed in February 2023, as we wrote in our news.

According to Alexey Klimov, a new agreement is currently being prepared for signing with the Chinese side, which will provide for further simplification of the mutual stay of citizens of both countries as part of tourist groups, in particular:

- the minimum composition of tourist groups will be reduced from 5 to 3 people;
- the period of their visa-free stay will be increased from 15 to 21 days;
- electronic document management will be introduced
