Firstly, migrants may be prohibited from bringing their families to Russia during their work in Russia. The preparation of such a draft law for submission for consideration was announced by the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin. According to him, this initiative is supported by the majority of Duma factions.
The second draft law concerns increasing the period of marriage with a Russian citizen required to obtain Russian citizenship. Currently, this period is two years, they want to increase it to three or four years, a decision on the exact period has not yet been made. According to the authors of the initiative, this will help combat fictitious marriages.
