According to the Moscow Mayor's official website, on 16 March 2021 the Multifunctional Migration Centre of Moscow opened a representative office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
"The activities of the MMC office are aimed at implementing the algorithm approved by the Russian Government for attracting foreign nationals to the national economy. The representative office, in cooperation with authorised agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, will carry out a full range of measures to recruit employees with the necessary skills and qualifications to work in the most important projects in Moscow: transport, construction, housing and utilities," explained Kirill Purtov, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Economic Policy and City Development Department at the opening ceremony of the representative office in Tashkent.

The main function of the representative office is to assist employers in Moscow, in particular by:
- disseminating information about vacancies in Moscow in Uzbekistan;
- informing Moscow employers about the availability of specialists with the required qualifications;
- organizing online interviews and assessing the professional skills of labour migrants;
- checking the possibility of entering the territory of the Russian Federation and carrying out labour activities.
The office also advises migrant workers on employment issues, work permit procedures, rules of stay in Moscow, including restrictions related to the pandemic, and controls the entry of migrants into Russia, including the availability of medical documentation confirming a negative test result for COVID-19.
