The Ministry of Internal Affairs has officially published information on the creation of a special working group that will provide operational advice to compatriots on resettlement issues, assist them in drawing up the necessary package of documents for participation in the State Program and solving other issues in this area of the Ministry's work.
According to state Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein, it was originally assumed that the Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs would open a center for accepting documents to participate in the state program for the voluntary resettlement of compatriots, which will receive and process applications around the clock from people from the CIS, the Baltic States and the near abroad – for whom Russia is a historical homeland.
At the same time, applications had to be considered no more than 15 days and received not only by e-mail, but also by fax, because in a number of "friendly" countries access to Russian Internet resources, including the State Services portal, is blocked. With a positive decision, compatriots would be able to immediately enter the territory of Russia, in the region chosen by them, and then apply for citizenship in an expedited manner.
However, in order for the Ministry of Internal Affairs to be able to accept documents for resettlement from everyone in the Russian Federation, and not in the country of origin, it is necessary to amend the current regulatory legal acts governing the rules for accepting such documents.
Currently, the opportunity to apply to the Ministry of Internal Affairs without leaving from homeland is reserved for a limited number of persons: temporarily and permanently residing foreign citizens, refugees and persons with temporary asylum, some students. Other foreign nationals can apply only in the country of origin.
