In continuation of the news about the special migration rules to be effective during the World Cup in 2018, we inform that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has prepared the Draft Decree of the President of Russia on increasing the time limit for migration registration of foreign citizens up to three days.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has prepared the Draft Decree of the President of Russia "On Amendments to art. 4 of the Decree of the President of Russia as of May 9, 2017 No. 202 "On Specifics of application of enhanced security measures during the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia and the Confederations Cup FIFA 2017 ".
The paragraph "d" of art. 4 of this Decree provides that in the cities of Kazan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi between June 01 and July 12, 2017, as well as the cities of Volgograd, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, St. Petersburg, Saransk, Sochi from May 25 to July 25, 2018 registration at the place of stay or registration at the place of residence of foreign citizens and stateless persons (arrived for temporary stay or permanent residence) is carried out within one day on the day of their arrival at the place of stay or residence with the presentation of the documents provided by the legislation of the RF, by the receiving party either directly by foreign citizens or stateless persons in the relevant territorial authority of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Thus, if the project is adopted, the requirements will be mitigated, and migration registration of foreign citizens must be carried out within three days. The project is currently not adopted.
