E-visas: Extended validity and stay duration
The permitted stay under an e-visa has been increased from 16 to 30 days:
• Visa validity extended from 60 to 120 days.
• Changes take effect on August 23, 2025, simplifying entry for foreign nationals. -
New rules for minors
Starting January 20, 2026, children under 14 will only be allowed to enter or exit Russia with a passport. Birth certificates will no longer be valid for border crossings.
However, minor Russian citizens who left Russia using a birth certificate before this date and do not possess a Russian passport will still be permitted to re-enter Russia with their birth certificate
3. Flexible border crossing rules
As of July 23, 2025, border crossings outside official checkpoints will be allowed with authorization from border control authorities.
