Amendments of June 06, 2019 to the Code of Visas, changing the rules of obtaining the visas come into effect on February 01, 2020.
Applicants will have the opportunity to apply for a visa six months in advance of intended trip, but no later than 15 days.
It will also be possible to fill out and sign the application form electronically, where electronic signature is recognized by the competent Member State
New visa application forms are being introduced. The old forms will not be accepted.
The visa fee has been increased from 60 euros to 80 euros. For citizens, who’s countries has signed visa facilitation agreement with EU (including the Russian Federation), the visa will still remain at the amount of 35 euros.
- To apply for one year multiple-entry visa the applicant has to obtain and lawfully use three single visas within the previous two years;
- To apply for two years multiple-entry visa the applicant has to obtain and lawfully use a previous multiple-entry visa valid for one year within the previous two years;
- To apply for five years multiple-entry visa the applicant has to obtain and lawfully use a previous multiple-entry visa valid for two years within the previous three years.
