The Government Resolution changes the period for registration of foreign citizens temporarily staying in Russia for migration purposes. In accordance with the wording of the Resolution, a foreign citizen temporarily staying in Russia is registered at the place of stay for the period stated in the notification of arrival at the place of stay, but for no more than one year.
Please note that the law does not specify for which category of temporarily staying citizens this rule will apply. It is assumed that this refers to temporarily staying citizens who arrived in Russia both in a manner that does not require a visa and in a manner that requires a visa.
It also does not specify from what moment one year should be counted. Confidence Group hopes that by 05.02.2025 some additional clarifications will be received regarding the moment of counting this period or the corresponding changes will be made to the current legislation.
