The Government of Russia adopted Resolution No. 14 as of January 19, 2019 and indicated the reasons for changing purpose of a foreign citizen’s trip when extending an ordinary study visa. The purpose of the trip can be changed when a foreign citizen enters a full-time or part-time course of study in the basic professional educational program after completing preparatory courses or an educational program of another level.
When obtaining an ordinary study visa, objectives of the trip (status) may be following: graduate school, internship, courses, studies, specialization, accompanying family member.
