The Russian president has instructed to prepare proposals and develop a mechanism for issuing residence permits and citizenship under a simplified procedure to foreign nationals who are finalists and winners of the "Russia – Land of Opportunity" platform by 1 September 2021, according to the RIA Novosti news agency.
The relevant instructions were approved following a meeting of the supervisory board of the autonomous non-profit organisation "Russia – Land of Opportunity" on 26 March 2021.
"The Government of the Russian Federation should develop a mechanism for issuing residence permits under a simplified procedure to foreign nationals and stateless persons who are finalists and winners of all-Russian competitions of the "Russia – Land of Opportunity" platform, if necessary to prepare and submit proposals on introducing relevant amendments to regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation," the Kremlin said in a statement.
Furthermore, in order to provide additional incentives for the winners of the "Russia – Land of Opportunity" competitions, the Russian President instructed the Presidential Administration, together with the Interior Ministry and Foreign Ministry, to prepare proposals for amendments to Russian legislation that would allow these persons to acquire Russian citizenship under a special procedure.
