On October 2, 2018, Presidential Decree N 562 “On Amendments to the regulations on the procedure for considering citizenship issues of Russia, approved by Decree of the President of Russia as of November 14, 2002 N 1325” came into force.
In order to be granted citizenship in a general manner, it will be necessary to confirm the amount of income for the period of residence in Russia from January 1 to December 31 of the year preceding the date of application.
Citizens of Ukraine who are native Russian speakers and permanently reside in Russia have to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner - if they submit a notarized copy of the application for renunciation of Ukrainian citizenship sent to a diplomatic mission or consular office of Ukraine in Russia and a receipt of registered mailing of this statements.
Also, the reason for abolition of admission to citizenship of Russia is applicant's refusal to take the oath of the citizen of Russia.
