On November 4, 2019, the President of Russia signed Federal Law No. 354-ФЗ, adding using of official position as a new sign for qualified offenses - the organization of illegal migration.
The Federal Law provides for addition of the corresponding paragraph "в" in part 2 of article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (organization of illegal migration by a person using his official position). This crime shall be punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term of up to seven years with a fine in amount of up to five hundred thousand rubles or in amount of the wage or other income of the convicted person for a period of up to three years or without it and with restriction of liberty for a term of up to two years or without it.
Federal law will enter into force on November 15, 2019.
