On July 17, a new version of the Decree of the President of Russia came into force, expanding the right for residents of the DPR, LPR and Ukraine to receive citizenship of Russia.
The right to apply for admission to citizenship in a simplified manner is granted to citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons who have one of the documents:
- temporary residence permit in Russia;
- permanent residence permit;
- refugee certificate;
- certificate of temporary asylum in Russia;
- evidence of a participant in the state program to assist the compatriots in the voluntary resettlement to Russia;
- a document confirming permanent residence in the territories of the DPR or Donetsk region as of April 7, 2014, as well as of the LPR or Lugansk region as of April 27, 2014.
