Since January 1, 2017 Russian workers from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEC) have access to the compulsory health insurance (CHI).
The EAEC Treaty provides that the social security, with the exception of pensions, the EAEC and the members of their families of migrant countries carried out under the same conditions and in the same manner as for the state of employment of citizens. At the same time to social security, in particular, to the mandatory health insurance. However, earlier in temporary residents working people of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have not had the opportunity to become a member of the CHI program in Russia. With the adoption of this decision, Russia, tens of thousands of workers from the EAEC countries will have access to social guarantees on a par with Russian citizens.
The Eurasian Economic Commission is making consistent efforts to ensure equal rights of the working people of the EAEC states to provide medical aid in the Russian territory, including organized consultations on this issue with the Member States. The parties agreed on the need to comply with the Treaty on the EAEC, and in late October, the Ministry of Health issued an order concerning changes in the MLA rules.
