Confidence Group continues to receive clarifications from the Consular Departments regarding the issuance of visas to Russian Federation on the basis of invitations with "outdated" purposes of entry, which have become invalid due to the coming into force of the MIA of Russia`s Order N 23235 as of 21.12.2020 (hereinafter referred to as "Order") (you can find more in our previous news).
The clarification states that the purpose of the trip "technical maintenance" has been removed from the section "ordinary business visas" and moved as "installation work" to the section "ordinary work visas". Such visas can be issued only on the basis of invitations for entering Russian Federation, issued properly in the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The clarification also informs about the need to carry out technical measures to modernize the automated information systems of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia used when issuing invitations for entering Russian Federation, and to establish a transitional period during which Russian diplomatic missions and consular offices are instructed to accept invitations for entering Russian Federation issued by the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for obtaining business visas for the purpose of travel "technical maintenance", before their expiration. When applying for visas, the necessary correction will be carried out in accordance with the Order.
The Consular Department additionally draws attention to the fact that visas issued with such invitations will be ordinary work visas for the purpose of the trip "installation work" with the maximum frequency - double-entry, and the duration of stay - not more than 90 days, despite the period and multiplicity, which are specified in the invitations.
