The Government of the Russian Federation has given final approval to the draft agreement on the abolition of visa requirements with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The signed document has been officially published on the legal information portal.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to conduct final negotiations with Saudi counterparts to settle all formalities.
The document will enter into legal force 60 days after Moscow and Riyadh exchange diplomatic notes confirming the completion of all necessary domestic procedures. From that date, Russian citizens will be able to visit Saudi Arabia for tourism, business, and private purposes for up to 90 days within each calendar year without the need for a visa. Identical conditions will apply to citizens of the Kingdom entering Russia.
This decision aims to simplify contacts between the peoples of the two countries, stimulate tourist flow, and develop trade and economic cooperation. Experts anticipate increased interest from Russian travelers and entrepreneurs in Saudi Red Sea resorts, historical landmarks, and the Kingdom's business opportunities.
