On March 3, 2017, the Russian Embassy in the Republic of South Africa announced the mutual cancellation of visas starting from March 30, 2017.
«Russia and the Republic of South Africa completed all procedures: starting from March 30, 2017, all visa requirements for holders of foreign passports to be canceled», - the Embassy said.
Earlier, the Government of Russia adopted an order to conclude a Protocol between the governments of Russia and the Republic of South Africa on the mutual abolition of visa requirements. The protocol provides introduction of visa-free travel for up to 90 days for holders of general foreign passports.
