The authorities of Sri-Lanka have simplified the conditions for entry and stay in the country.
From April 19, 2022, all categories of foreign tourists are no longer required to fill out the Health Declaration Form.
Vaccinated Russians must present a vaccination certificate in English, downloaded from the "Gosuslugi" portal. It is no longer necessary for vaccinated tourists to carry "People's Insurance PLC", however, they must carry any health insurance covering possible COVID-19 risks.
Unvaccinated tourists are no longer required to take a COVID-19 PCR-test upon arrival and on the 7th day of their stay. The requirement to comply with quarantine upon arrival with mandatory staying in a Level 1 hotel has also been cancelled.
Now unvaccinated tourists will need to present a certificate of a negative COVID-19 PCR-test result. The test must be done not earlier than 72 hours before departure. "People's Insurance PLC" in this case is mandatory. It can be issued in advance (for example, through a tour operator) or upon arrival at the airport. The cost is 12 dollars.
Children under 12 years, as before, do not require either a certificate of vaccination or a certificate of a negative COVID-19 PCR-test.
We also remind you that tourists who are citizens of the Russian Federation need to apply for a visa to enter Sri-Lanka. This can be an electronic visa (ETA, cost - 35 dollars), or a visa on arrival (40 dollars).
In addition to loosing entry restrictions, some important internal restrictions have also been lifted, for example, the need to wear masks in the open air had been cancelled rom April 19, 2022. However, masks will still be required to be worn indoors, at events, and in public transport.
