According to the US Embassy in Russia beginning August 23, 2017, the issuance of nonimmigrant USA visas in Russia will be suspended. Beginning September 1, 2017, this procedure will be resumed, but only in Moscow. Interviews which have already been scheduled will be canceled, and those who have already applied for USA visas will be informed of how they can reassign the interview.
Also the US Embassy reports that staffing changes will also affect the scheduling of some immigrant visa applicants. Affected applicants will be contacted if there is a change as to the time and date of their interview.
These actions are related to mutual sanctions imposed by Russia and the USA.
