Armenia and Turkey agreed to allow citizens of third countries to cross the Armenian-Turkish border as soon as possible, as well as to organize direct air transportation of goods, according to the website of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
This step was taken as part of the measures to normalize relations between the two countries, and the meeting on July 1, 2022 was the fourth in a row (the first took place on January 14, 2022 in Moscow, the second on February 24 in Vienna, and the third on May 3 in Vienna).
There are no diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey, and the border has been closed since 1993 at the initiative of Ankara due to the Karabakh conflict.
