The Ministry of Economic Development has introduced the amendments to legislation on simplified procedure of Russian visa obtaining for the foreign employees, working within the project of the Advanced Special Economic Zone (ASEZ) in the Far East.
According to the proposed amendments, visa for the foreign citizens could be granted based on the invitation letter, issued by a company-resident of ASEZ or free Port of Vladivostok.
A draft law proposes to simplify the procedure of obtaining multiple entry business visas. A representative foreign citizen or an employer of a foreign company, intended to conclude an investment agreement with the resident of ASEZ or free Port of Vladivostok will be issued a 1 year multiple entry business visa. The period of application processing should not be not more than 5 days. If the agreement has already concluded, foreign citizens and their family members would be able to get visas for the length of the agreement, but for not more than 3 years. The processing should also take up to 5 days.
In case of expiration or termination of the agreement, the period of foreign citizen’s stay in Russia would be shortened. The company shall notify the State bodies on expiration or termination of investment agreement within 3 working days.
The officials propose that these changes will positively influence the social and economic development of the Far East. The amendments will come into force within 3 months after the official announcement.
