From 17.06.2020, Presidential Decree of the Russian Federation No. 398 "Оn amendments to the Regulations on the procedure for consideration of issues of citizenship of the Russian Federation” come into force.
The new Presidential Decree was amended as follows:
- In the list of documents confirming possession of the applicant Russian language on the level sufficient for communication in oral and written form, included the decision on the recognition of the applicant by the speaker of the Russian language, adopted by the Commission of the Russian Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia or its territorial body for recognition of foreign citizen or the person without citizenship by native Russian speakers.
- Verification of circumstances indicating the presence or absence of citizenship of the Russian Federation cannot exceed two months from the date of registration of the relevant application or the decision of the competent authority to carry out verification, including at the initiative of another state body. The period for implementation of verification may be extended, but not by more than one month.
Also the bases for cancellation of decisions on issues of citizenship of the Russian Federation were correct, in particular, the establishment by judicial process of the fact of use by the applicant of false documents or reports false information on the basis of which decisions accordingly, the establishment of an enforceable judgment of the court the Complainant had committed at least one crime (preparation for crime or attempted crime) provided for by part two of article 22 of the Federal law from 31.05.2002 N 62 "On citizenship of the Russian Federation".
