In May 2017, the Draft law toughening the responsibility for violating the established procedure for issuing documents for the right for stay (residence) of foreign citizens in the RF was introduced for consideration by the State Duma.
Part 3 of the Article 18.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses establishes the administrative responsibility for providing an accommodation or a vehicle or rendering other services to a foreign citizen or stateless person staying in Russia in violation of the order or rules of transit pass through its territory.
The Draft law proposes to establish the imposition of an administrative fine for these actions:
- for citizens in the amount from two thousand to five thousand rubles;
- for officials - from thirty-five thousand to fifty thousand rubles;
- for legal entities - from four hundred thousand to five hundred thousand rubles.
