The draft federal law empowers the Russian government to approve the list of foreign states whose citizens can be issued an ordinary tourist visa for up to six months. The visa will be issued upon confirmation of the hotel reservation.
Prior to this, the bill was considered at a meeting of the Government of Russia and approved for submission to the State Duma.
These initiatives were put under consideration against the backdrop of the fact that during the meeting in Prague, the EU foreign ministers failed to agree on the introduction of a general ban on the issuance of visas to Russian citizens, however, they managed to agree on a decision to completely freeze the visa facilitation agreement with Russia, about which we wrote earlier.
