From October 1, 2019, in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow, on the basis of an internal order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, documents will be accepted for processing only electronic invitations to enter Russia for foreign citizens. Documents for issuing invitations on forms of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will no longer be accepted.
One of the main problems with electronic invitations has always been the problem of correcting errors made both by the applicant and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. So, assuming the issued electronic invitation, admitted by the applicant when submitting documents, the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not correct the information in the invitation, offers to submit documents for the invitation again.
Provided that the error was made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs when issuing the electronic invitation, the electronic invitations can be corrected, for which it is necessary to send a letter to the Central Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow with a request to make appropriate changes to the invitation. The timing of the adjustment can be from one business day to several weeks.
Making adjustments is theoretically possible in individual cases by agreement with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In most cases, the possibility of adjustments seems unlikely.
Please note that the full-scale implementation of this procedure has been repeatedly announced over the past few years, but has been constantly delayed. Let's hope that the current attempt is more successful.
We will keep you posted on the changes.
