In March 2017, the authorities of St. Petersburg decided to create a state multifunctional migration center (hereinafter – MMC). It was reported by the vice-governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Govorunov.
This decision was made following interaction with the chiefs of the Moscow MMC, operating in the territory of New Moscow. Services are carried out by the government agency. The sum for registration of the full package of documents for the migrant is about 17 000 rubles.
In St. Petersburg, the sum is twice as high.
The amount of expenses on the construction of the center in Moscow is 8 billion rubles, but it has been repaid within a year of work.
Alexander Govorunov still did not name possible place for the construction of the center in St. Petersburg.
Answering the question about what will happen to the United Migration Center working in the Single Document Center, after the establishment of the state MMC, he said: «This is a matter of private business».
