On March 24, 2021 Presidential Decree N 166 of 24.03.2021 was published and entered into force, which amends the State program to assist the voluntary resettlement of compatriots living abroad to the Russian Federation, approved by Presidential Decree of 22 June 2006 N 637.
Most of the changes are of a technical nature, but the provisions on the compensation of expenses to participants of the State Program have been revised, and the basis for maintaining the status of a family member of a participant of the State Program has been added.
The provisions of paragraph 20 (a) of the State program have been expanded, which provides the compensation of costs of participants of the State program for moving to a future place of residence – the previously compensated transportation of personal belongings has been replaced by the transportation of personal property, including vehicles.
In addition, reimbursement will no longer depend on the use by participants in the State Program of regular routes of freight and passenger transportation.
Also, a new rule was added stipulating that in the case of death, recognition as a participant of the State program as missing or declared dead, the persons listed in the certificate of a participant of the State program retain the status of family members of a participant of the State program (paragraph 18.2 of the State program).
