On February 11, 2016 the Greek consulates started issuing multiple Schengen visas for a period of three years for Russian citizens, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.
As Panagiotis Beglitis, the Consul General of Greece in St. Petersburg, stated at a press conference in St. Petersburg, Greece simplified the package of documents required for a Schengen visa. For example, for children under 18 years it would be enough to provide just a copy of the birth certificate, the original of birth certificate is not required.
The Consul General said that Greece is looking forward to the high tourist season and willing to issue visas to Russians in the "shortest possible time".
