The innovation is designed to simplify the procedure for obtaining public services for Russian citizens living outside Russia
A
law was adopted on the establishment on the territory of certain foreign states of state unitary enterprises that provide public services on the territory of consular institutions of Russia. We wrote about this law at the drafting stage earlier.The list of foreign states on whose territory such service centers will be organized will be established by the federal executive body in charge of foreign affairs.
Also, the specified law establishes the deadline for the term of office of honorary consuls of Russia at 5 years, with the possibility of multiple extensions.
The specified law comes into force after 90 days from the date of its official publication, that is, on March 5, 2023.
