On June 18, 2024, the Russian State Duma adopted two draft laws in the first reading: the first of them introduces a special regime for the expulsion of migrants, and the second gives the police powers to expel foreign citizens who have violated migration laws.
We wrote about these draft laws at the time they were introduced for consideration by the State Duma - read more about the deportation regime here, about the expulsion of foreign citizens without a court decision by the Ministry of Internal Affairs here. Both draft laws were adopted in the first reading without amendments.
We are closely monitoring the progress of the consideration of draft laws and will notify you of any significant events and changes.
