On July 31, 2024, the A Just Russia faction submitted a
draft law to the State Duma of Russia that proposes to ban foreign citizens from carrying out a number of activities and working in a number of economic sectors.Namely, foreign citizens and stateless persons are proposed to be banned from:
- carrying out medical and pharmaceutical activities;
- holding the position of a teaching staff member in organizations that carry out educational activities under general and additional education programs;
- carrying out activities for the transportation of passengers by urban, suburban and intercity public transport;
- carrying out activities for the transportation of goods by road, including using trailers and semi-trailers whose technically permissible weight exceeds 3,500 kg, with the exception of international road transport;
- carry out activities for the delivery of small cargo, parcels, correspondence.
The draft law is expected to enter into force on January 1, 2025.
