From July 11, 2022, all citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons permanently residing on the territory of the DPR, LPR or Ukraine, as well as citizens of the DPR, LPR or Ukraine staying or living on the territory of Russia, have the right to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner.
To do this, persons residing on the territory of Ukraine and the LDNR can apply to the points located on the territory of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of Ukraine for receiving applications for acquiring citizenship of Russia.
Citizens of the DPR, LPR or Ukraine, who are residing on the territory of Russia, can apply for admission to the citizenship of Russia to any territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the place of actual residence (if they do not have registration at the place of residence or place of stay on the territory of Russia). This requires a minimum list of documents - a passport of a citizen of the DPR, LPR or Ukraine (for stateless persons - a document proving identity and statelessness, with a mark of registration at the place of residence in these territories), a certificate of the absence of a disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV- infections), a document confirming the absence of diseases dangerous to others and a migration card.
In the absence of a migration card, its duplicate can be obtained by contacting the migration unit of the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the place of actual residence.
In some cases, applicants will be required to submit documents on the conclusion or dissolution of marriage, indicating a change in surname, name or patronymic, a birth certificate of a child included in the application for admission to the citizenship of Russia.
All territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, as well as branches of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Passport and Visa Service" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia are ready to provide citizens of the DPR, LPR and Ukraine with assistance and assistance in preparing documents for applying for admission to Russian citizenship, according to a message on the official website of the department.
