By order of October 11, 2023, the total number of quotas for issuing temporary residence permits in Russia to foreign citizens in 2024 was reduced

Government Order No. 2798-r dated October 11, 2023 has been published, establishing quotas for issuing temporary residence permits in Russia to foreign citizens and stateless persons for 2024 and distributing these quotas by region.In general, the number of quotas was reduced by more than 20% (a total of 10,595 in Russia, while in 2023 there were 13,535). At the same time, for the first time, quotas were also distributed to new regions of Russia - the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
Quotas were distributed as follows:
- total in Russia - 10,595
- Central Federal District - total 3610 (was 4550)
- Moscow - 1500
- Moscow region - 750 (was 1250)
- St. Petersburg - 300 (was 400)
- Leningrad region - 125
- Zaporozhye region - 500
- Kherson region - 100
- LPR - 65
- DPR - 55
