According to reports that appeared in some media, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is working on amendments to the federal law FZ-115 "On the legal status of foreign citizens in Russia." In particular, the law proposes to amend the period of permitted stay in Russia for migrants from visa-free countries - previously they could stay in the country for up to 90 days within 180 days, but now they plan to increase this period to a year.The message also contains information about plans to introduce the so-called migration fee, the amount of which has not yet been precisely determined.
However, the text of the draft law is not yet in the public domain, and there are also no official reports on its development. Publications about the draft law in various media refer to the same source - the Baza Telegram channel, which, in turn, refers to "its own sources", the origin of which is not disclosed.
We sent a request to the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to comment on the situation, as well as to disclose the content of the prepared bill and the expected time frame for its submission to the State Duma.
