A draft decree on the right to obtain Russian citizenship for relatives of Russians who signed a contract with the Armed Forces during the special operation was submitted for consideration on July 30, 2024
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia proposes to simplify the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for relatives of Russian citizens who signed a contract with the Russian Armed Forces during the SMO. The draft of the corresponding Decree of the President of Russia was
published on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.Currently, only relatives of foreign citizens who signed a contract with the Russian Armed Forces during the SMO have such a right (read more in our news). The draft of the new decree proposes to eliminate this injustice.
It is assumed that the decree will enter into force at the time of publication and will apply to contracts concluded from January 4, 2024.
