Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at a speech at the government hour with the State Duma of Russia, said that Russia intends to introduce a visa-free regime with 11 countries of the world, and it is planned to introduce a regime of facilitated visa processing with six countries of the world,
TASS reports.Among these countries, the minister named, in particular, India and Indonesia.
Also, according to Lavrov, work is underway to remove restrictions on the issuance of electronic visas to citizens of about 70 countries, with the exception of unfriendly countries that have stopped issuing visas to Russian citizens in a simplified manner. An agreement on the introduction of electronic visas was reached three years ago, but then the coronavirus pandemic intervened and everything was put on hold.
The minister also commented on the situation with international tourism, which, he said, is currently affected mainly by logistical difficulties and the lack of direct flights, rather than visa issues.
